- The main axis of this zone is the National Route 40 and its hard rubble surface. Besides, each town on this area is connected with each other and with the rest of the country by airlines and bus companies.
- The National Route 40 is the main artery of the Mountain Range Area of Andes and it connects the most important touristic points, such as Bariloche, Villa La Angostura en other Patagonic destinations. It runs parallely to the Andes Mountain range.
- Crossing to Chile: The necessary documentation to visit Chile is: Identity Card, Identification or Passport and Car Documents.
- Ship Trips: There are several options on ship transfers in the region.
There are excursions that goes from Ushuaia dock by the Beagle Channel to the Antartica and to Willians and Arenas Ports in Chile. On the other hand, there are ship trips by Argentino, Viedma, Buenos Aires and Fontana Lakes.

Activities & Excursions: what to do in Calafate?
 

Its main attraction is the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier, which stands 80 meters (262 ft) tall and is 5 kilometers (3.1miles) long. The glacier is formed by large blocks of ice that are always moving, being one of the few glaciers with this characteristic. It was declared a Natural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 198.

All along this region there are a lot of options to enjoy recreative activities or extreme and outdoor sports.

Ski centres: there are excellent andean and upstage ski centres like Cerro Castor, Valdelen and Altos del Valle.

Climbing & Trekking: Fitz Roy and San Lorenzo peaks are the challenging choosen places for the climbing lovers, whereas walking or flora & fauna sightseeing can be practiced all over the region.

Sport Fishing: rivers like Grande and all the other Patagonian rivers has a great variety of fishes which attracts hundreds of fanatics.

Antartica: between November and March, embarkations leave from Ushuaia towards the "White Continent". The traditional travel lasts over 9 days and goes through the Drake channel.
