Iguassu Falls: This magnificent
array of waterfalls is located in Southern Brasil in the
state of Parana on the border between Argentina and Brazil.
They stretch for 2.5 miles plunging 269 feet (82m) into
Iguassu River. Numerous rocky and wooded islands on the
edge of the escarpment over which the Iguassu River plunges
divide the falls into some 275 separate waterfalls or cataracts.
In 1986 Iguassu Falls were declared a Natural Heritage of
Mankind by Unesco.
Fishing in Parana River: the Dorado, the
Surubi and the Pacu fishes are the favorite species for
the sport fishermen that choose Parana river to practise
sport fishing. From November to January it is not allowed
to fish in this watershed. Out from this period, excluding
climatic exceptions, fishing is excellent.
Adventure and rural tourism: another option
is agro-tourism. Spending the day in a farm, where it is
common to organize rides and all kind of strolls aimed to
contact with nature, has become a very interesting trend
specially for families with children.
Fauna watching: more than 450 bird species
attract watchers from all around the world in the province
of Misiones. Iguassu National Park is the place to go, according
to the choice of the majority, with its 1.235.000 acres
of protected area.
