- Salta has three main connections to the outskirts: National Roads 9, 68 and 40.
- It has an airport, located a few miles away from the capital city: General Martín M. De Guemes Airport (RN51).
- Almost all bus lines arrive to the capital city.
- Bus Terminal Station: Hipólito Irigoyen.
- Cabs are red.
- Bikes can be rented to roam the region.

Activities & Excursions: what to do in Salta?
 

Far from the quietness of other cities in the argentinian Northwest, Salta offers very interesting choices for the adventurers and lovers of nature and outdoors lifestyle.

It's also world wide known the amazing Train to the Clouds (Tren a las Nubes) that at 4,500 meters above sea level, the train which climbs the Andes is the most amazing in the world. This engineering masterpiece is considered unique not only for its route, but also for the uncommon beauty that surrounds it. It is for that reason that nearly 28,000 passengers per year raise up their body and soul and touch the sky.

You can practise several extreme sports in here like trekking, rafting and paragliding, or less risky activities like sport fishing, horse rides or sightseeing.

Trekking: this excursions are generally developed in the Puna area, the Calchaquíes Valleys and silvan zones.
